New England, North Dakota is a very small town located 25 miles south of Dickinson on Highway 22. New England is quiet, peaceful, laid-back, slow-paced, with lower than average crime, and a low cost of housing.
There are not many job openings in New England, but it might be a suitable place to live if you are willing to travel within a 1-hour drive radius from New England for work. In this region, the most prevalent and in-demand occupations are: electrician, plumber, HVAC tech, auto mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, welder, commercial truck driver, heavy equipment operator, oilfield worker, healthcare, corrections.
In the evening in New England, there is only one place in town that serves food, and usually only Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The only place to go out to eat at night in New England is the Golden West Bar located in downtown on Main Street. This bar does have a large dining area, where local families come with mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, uncles, aunts, children, and friends.
The steaks are good, but are in the $30-$50 price range. Cheeseburgers, chicken strips, fried clams are in the $20 price range. In order to determine if you, your spouse, and your children would enjoy living in New England, you should all go as a family to the Golden West Bar, where the other families in New England go.
